Hello! Welcome to Nicole Kiernan I’m Nicole, a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Mad Dogg Athletics Certified Spin Instructor and a lover of all things fitness and health.
Formally Runs & WODs, Nicole Kiernan Fitness transformed from a running and CrossFit focused blog to one that covers all aspects of health and fitness. While I still love to run and CrossFit, my ever expanding fitness journey has broaden so it only seemed appropriate that my blog does too.
My journey to living a healthy and fit lifestyle really began after I graduated college in 2010. I left college about 20 pounds heavier then when I entered and wanted to do something about it. I felt sluggish and not like myself. It was time for a change. I began to eat healthier and exercise more. After a few months I began to fall in love with this new lifestyle I was leading. I developed a passion for healthy living, which eventually lead me to running marathons and doing CrossFit.
In November 2014 I made the decision to turn my passion into a profession. I left my corporate job to become a full time Personal Trainer. I already had a Health Coaching certificate through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition but I wanted more. I wanted to help people find their passion for fitness and to get healthy. If I could go for a chunky college student to a competitive marathon runner, well then anyone can get fit with hard work and determination. I want to be a part of that process. After I passed the NASM Certified Personal Trainer exam, I became a Personal Trainer at Equinox Bryant Park. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Nicole Kiernan Fitness differs from Runs & WODs by showcasing all the aspects of fitness I’m currently pursuing. As I mentioned earlier, running and CrossFit are still a huge part of my life, both professionally and personally, but as my journey in fitness continues to grow, my blog needs to grow with it.
What you can expect to find on Nicole Kiernan Fitness are my personal experiences as a Personal Trainer, weekly workouts, tips on how to be a stronger you and the important role of nutrition plays in achieving goals.
